Get Ready to Sizzle: Spudz Seasoned Fries Hit the Aisles of Sprouts

Spudz, Washington D.C.-based frozen fry company, is growing once again! This time into Sprouts grocery stores meaning more fries in more hands of customers across the country. 

Spudz Seasoned Fries are made with high-quality potatoes grown in Idaho and are made with high quality oil and spices. Each ingredient used is free of preservatives and chemicals. Spudz offers fries in classic sea salt, rosemary garlic, and Chesapeake bay flavors. 

The launch into Sprouts grocery stores is a significant milestone for Spudz. Sprouts is a well-known grocery chain that focuses on offering high-quality and healthy food options to their customers. This new partnership will make it even easier for customers to access Spudz Seasoned Fries and enjoy their delicious flavors. 

Spudz is owned and operated by the owners of Swizzler. Jesse Konig and Ben Johnson founded Swizzler during their college days at Wake Forest University, have been running two food trucks for the past six years that specialize in everyday american eats, including hamburgers, hot dogs, and, of course, french fries! As Jesse puts it, “It’s fun nostalgic foods without the mystery meat.” 

After graduation, Jesse and Ben relocated the business to Washington D.C., Ben’s hometown. They bought their first food truck in October 2014 and started selling their specialty dogs., known for outrageously delicious toppings and high quality. With many eager requests from hungry customers, the Swizz team expanded their menu to include burgers and fries. They realized, through these daily interactions with customers, that there was a huge opportunity to reclaim American eats. Why does eating fast food have to leave you with that hangover feeling?

“We believe that fast food can be a force for good. Our purpose is to share the joys of fast food, while leaving people and the planet for better. We aim to raise the bar for fast food: we call it Real American Eats,” as explained on the Swizzler site.

The D.C. based crispy chicken and smashburger restaurant that operates in Navy Yard and the Capital One Arena. Swizzler is an Accelerator member, joining the Union Kitchen portfolio in 2018. Their expansion into CPG has only helped the company grow and bring the fresh taste of their food service products to their customers’ homes.
